When I was in primary school, every time I write Malay essay, I definitely have to use this word ---> "Punya"

For example: Saya punya abang sudah kahwin.

I know the way Penang people talk ar, a little bit weird la. They have to combine chinese + malay + english whenever they speak. But I don't remember we use "punya" in our sentences.

Lately I noticed that a lot of Sabahan they use a lot a lot a lot a lot of "punya" in their conversation. And their "punya" have different meaning. It means 'extremely'.

These examples taken from what DelvinC have said in the past (not only him la, many many of them use this word before).

"I punya lonely", "I punya happy-lo today, I get to go shopping"

So I learned something new-lo. I think-ar this word kinda cute la.

You know what. Today I suddenly feel myself punya old and punya stupid, then-ar I become punya sad- lo!!

I have goosebumps every time I listen to this song.
It walks me down to memory lane.
This song brings me back to the time when I was staying in Subang and Emerge'06.
I still remember I played this song over and over again to show how much I love this song, while Pamela likes the other song "Lost" in the same album.

Every time I listen to this song I think of my family. It's their shoulder that I have always depended on. The other day talked on phone with mom and papa, got to know that they went for a medical check up. It's good to know that they are health conscious and I love to see that they are always do things together. And then my brother, I found out that he viewed my friendster profile via his friendster account. lol. Oh, and my both sisters did the same thing too! I love their kaypo-ness over my life. =p

Somehow in some way, this song makes me think of Edwin's sister. I remember the time we sang over and over again in the car when I was in Sabah. Then Edwin's mom, she always makes me feel loved by taking the initiative to talk to me and care for me. I am glad that I have another shoulder to lay on whenever I need someone to talk to.

And lastly.. I guess the lyrics of this song rather suitable for him. It's the messages that I want to deliver to him. Nah, for u la PHD. =p

I seriously don't know how lo. =_= Compared to last semester, last last semester, last last last semester, I did not procrastinate that much lo. But somehow I still screwed up the time management la.

Oh, and today I had two presentations. Was bad. First, I had a lot of confidence during the presentation for cognitive psychology, because I prepared a very very pretty and sweet presentation slides, and somehow the projector screen just had to play trick on me, geram only, so my slides did not projected nicely. Then the next presentation on Skinner the dead person during Psychology History & System class, I had carried over effect from the last presentation, so I just simply presented the whole presentation. =_= But later, I regretted, cos I only realized that it was my last chance to do a good presentation in my university life. Argh. Screw it. Too late already.

I hardly sleep lo lately. I usually catch a nap during day time after class. If I didn't answer your phone call or your Msn messages, I must be sleeping. And yea, I usually will not return call one, I don't know why. Maybe I think that if it's really important you will keep on calling. =p

I need at least 36 hours for one day lo. I want to go play snow ball fight. I want to go sledding. I want to go snow tubing. I want to have more quiet times. I want to hibernate. I want to talk on phone. I want to take a long shower. I want to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I want to just chill with friends. I want to do a lot of things lo.

For now, I need to stop blogging and go back to do my work lo. =(

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The other day when we were on the way to the city and other states, we saw a lot of banners hanging with "Festival of Light" written on it. One of my friend was curious and said "huh..how come American celebrate Deepavali too"... =_= Then later only we realized that to them Festival of Light is the day when they light up all the Christmas tree and Christmas deco in every town, city, in US.

On the other hand, I have been singing Christmas songs/carols in choir class for this semester. I love singing Christmas songs, thus it makes choir class my favorite subject this semester. =p

Last Christmas, I had a chance to join Edwin & Randall in their school caroling team. I wasn't from their college, but everyone was so nice to me! I had a great time with them, and we got a chance to perform in Lot-10 for every weekend during December. On top of that, the banners and posters with our picture on it were everywhere!! =p

Last Christmas, I had a very very quiet celebration with Anthony and Jason while everyone was back in their hometown. We had a wonderful time together, we shopped, we cooked, we laughed, we talked, and we drank wine without a wine opener!!!


Last Christmas was also my first time with City Harvest. I still remembered I had tears in my eyes when we sang "Angels brought me here". I sent PamSong a message right after that, after all she is the angel that brought me into this big family. =)

This year Christmas gonna be a different one, because I surely have no idea where myself gonna be at. I may be loitering around in the down town selling matches in the cold-snowy-windy night. Dramatic-nya. It doesn't matter where I am gonna be at, I know that I will also be filled with warm loves from my family & friends.

Road trip + Banquet + Friends!

I am back from Memphis, Tennesseeee!! I went there for my company's annual banquet. It was so fun, from the first minute when everyone jumped into the car until the very last minute when we reached the dorm!

Before I continue, I have to thank a few people-lor.....Thank you Chloe, HuiLing, Neil, MyPet, Yvonne, Airene, for making this trip so fun! Thank you guys for accompanying me allllllllllll the way to Memphis and hope you guys enjoyed yourself too!

So back to the topic.. We took about 24 hours to drive to Memphis, on the way we passed by a few states: Minnesota (of cos la!), Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, and Tennessee. It was a very very short trip. From Friday noon to Monday Mid-nite. =_=" It's all because of our stupid school, the thanksgiving holidays only will be started on Wednesday!! We all have to rush back for exams and classes. like Duh lor!!

It was so fun and tiring (I know I have mentioned for quite a few times already, but it was really fun ma!). I was so glad that MyPet helped me to drive a lot, I love Airene's laughter, I enjoyed Chloe's singing, I am amazed by how stone Yvonne can be, I was worried that Neil might get bored, and also I was not surprised that HuiLing slept all the way.

Apart from that, I got to meet all my old friends!! Friends!!! I love my friends!!! i love my pet too.

A.H.A.S.

Dear 'to whom it may concern',

I wasn't feeling great for the past weekend. Many of you said I was probably having PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), as I wasn't look happy as usual. However, I did not think that it was because of PMS. I figured it out today, I was having AHAS. AHAS is After Handling up Assignment Syndrome. I know that I did very bad for the research lab literature review. It is the worst paper I have ever written in my whole college life. =( sigh. How la? I think I am still having AHAS until today. =( whatever la.

So, where should I go?

In about 5 weeks time I am going to be kicked out from the dorm, and I will be a homeless girl then. I don't know where should I go, I don't know where should I start my career. Portland would be a nice place, as I can stay with my aunt and cousins, and my parents would not be so worried about me. I'd loved to go to Chicago with my pet and Yvonne, but the living fees in Chicago is something I should take into consideration. Atlanta, another big city with CNN headquarter and Coca-cola museum. Obviously I am not attracted by that. It is just simply because I love the city and my super duper nice-kind-hearted ex-manager is there! And California, who don't love California?? Big city with lots of opportunities, hmm... Or Minneapolis? Considering I have been there for so many times. =_= Well, I don't know how-la. In the end, I think I will stuck in Bemidji, this dead town, forever.

forgive me for the randomness.

I have been reading a lot of journals lately. It's all the topics surrounding on multiculturalism & globalization from the psychology point of view. Culture is always an interesting topic to study. I love culture so much to the extend that I stay in Open Borders (where you live with people from everywhere), and also I put 'culture' under the 'interest' section in my resume.

I love everyone no matter where are you from, what color are you, what kinda food you eat, and etc. Over the years, I try not to be racist, not to stereotype, not to discriminate as much as I can. Well, I know sometimes you just can't avoid to be discriminative. I am lucky that the place where I am staying right now, people are not that racist. During the Summer when I was working in North Carolina, people there are famous for their Southern Hospitality, they are even more friendly than Penang people. I am lucky again.

People here categorized us as Asian people. Every time when they talk, we are referred as their favorite Asian people. So, are we really that likable by everyone? Apparently not.

So my friend told me this story when I was back from the Summer. My friends wanted to go Minneapolis (A city that 4 hours away from us), but one of them supposed to work and he had to find someone to replace him. All of my friends are Malaysians. One of them approached this American guy (Sorry I have to name everyone according to their nationality to avoid confusion), so my friend said to him "Can you replace xxx at this time at the dining hall, please.." This American guy did not say anything but his friend who stood beside him (an American guy also) responded to my friend that "why not you just go and ask other Malaysians or Nepalis to replace you, since they love to work, and they work all the time.." My friend said this guy has zero culture sensitivity. To me, I think he is super culture sensitive, considering he knows Malaysians and Nepalis so well.

The other day I got to know that one of my friend (an American guy) just got married. Apparently we have issue with this guy as he is so flirtatious and what I hate about him is, he lies all the time. He lies without blinking his eyes, and too bad we know it's all lies even he wanna cover it nicely. So he messaged me quite a lot of times in MSN after his wedding. I have no problem with that but I hate it so much when he has to lie for all kind of nonsense. So I was kinda frustrated and said this to him "you stop freaking lying around and go get yourself a job and treat your wife good". Well, you can say that I was busy body or whatever, or you can say that whether he wanna be loyal to his wife or what he wanna do in his life is problem, but I just can't stand it ok. As much as I am frustrated with him, he was annoyed by what I said to him too. At last he said this to me "You Asian people, especially you Malaysian, what the hack are you doing in my country, pack your bag and go back to your poor country" I did not exaggerate, not even a bit. Obviously I was upset about it.

During our hall meeting, they announced that this Nepalis guy is not allowed to come to our floor anymore. They complained about him that he came to our floor and used some of the people's computer without permission. Yup, it's his fault that he did not ask permission. But I don't think that it's so serious that if we ever seen him on our floor again, we are allowed to call security officer. Eh Come on la! It's not that he sexually harass the girls here or what, he should at least be given a chance to get a warning first or what. =_=

I still remember when I was staying in Damansara Heights, one of this Vietnamese girl was so upset that she had to move out from the apartment as her house mates signed a petition to ask her to leave the house as she has some skin problems. Because of this her friend (another Vietnamese) also had to move out even she doesn't have any skin problems. People can be so cruel sometimes. Sad right?

Another incident happened in the same apartment. There was one night we were making loud noises, the neighbor on top of our floor came down and scolded us. Without surveying the whole situation, the neighbor went and knocked on the Vietnamese door, and scolded the poor guys who were actually doing assignment. Life can be so unfair sometimes. After I moved out from the apartment what I heard was Vietnamese and Chinese (from China) apparently not allowed to stay in that apartment anymore. sigh.

Can you imagine how beautiful this world gonna be if everyone can learn to tolerate with one another a little bit more? If everyone with different colors of skin able to love each other more, that will be great, as our lives will be as pretty as rainbow, so colorful.

It's 4 am in the morning, obviously I am crapping.

A surprise...well..not exactly

I shall blog about my birthday. =p Yea I know it's been awhile, but this morning I received another gift so...*hehe*
I have been really stress lately, I do not sleep well, studies been bad, I am broke,constantly worrying about my future, about getting a job, about the visa application, missing home, wanting to go home badly, and etc la!
The other day when WeeJian called he found out that I wasn't sleeping well lately. All the while I know that he is going to send me something, and well, this morning I received this!
A cuddle bear that can help me to sleep better! I love it! It's really soft and it accompanied me to take a 4-hour-nap this afternoon. =p Then the massager hopefully can massage away my stress!

I received a lot of birthday cards, but this one I love it! It's so funny ok.

Well..then my floor mates gave me surprises. On the wall: Ming's birthday on 17th.

& this gonna be so memorable! Natalie K & PMC they made me bring this stupid helium balloons to class. They knew that Wednesday was the busiest day (5 classes back to back) to me, so they purposely wanted me to look stupid in class. Argh! Everyone looked at me like I am a bimbo!

Not only the balloons! They brought me gift with this paper bag, and I just couldn't squeeze it in my bag! Gosh, it was so embarrassing!!

Inside the paper bag was this ducky slippers. =_= I am not going to give birth anytime soon, but that's a nice thought of Natalie K & PMC. Love you girls.

I received a lot of gifts when I was in Malaysia too. This is one of them. I am not the ring or diamond kinda person, but o well, this is from someone special so I don't mind receiving it. =p and oh yea I know I have cute fingers. =p

Told you. Every time when I want to travel or when I am traveling, something surely will happen. WHY?

My flight canceled yesterday. They delayed my flight not by 1 hour not by 6 hours, but one whole freaking day!!

Anthony!

Chatting with Anthony can be very fun, cos he is so adorable la! We have known each other for a year now... From Emerge 06' until today.. Seeing him from a guy just won a singing contest until a singer today, it's been a long journey for him. A lot of things have been changed, but he still stay the same!

When I first got to know him, he was so friendly, and not shy at all! =p Miss those days when I had to fetch him to airport and Astro when he just sold his car, Miss those days when I can just sit there to listen to his beautiful voice, Miss those days when I can enjoy looking at him playing the piano.

I miss the day when we went to RedBox to sing from 12noon to 9pm! I miss the day when he decided to 'dump' away his friends and accompanied me and Jason on Christmas.

And last but not least, I love him simply because he bought my very cute Kelisa from me! *haha*

During our trip to Mrtyle Beach... in one of the restaurant...Our manager was discussing with us which show to watch after the lunch....he didnt know that we actually added salt, pepper, ketchup into his drink when he went to the restroom...All of us were waiting for him to take a sip of the Coke. I haven't brought my I-20 to the International Admission Office to get okie-dokie from them.

As an assignment of career&internship class, I have to find several job descriptions online. This is scaring me off. All my "desire" jobs require at least 2 years of experience, and some even a master-degree. Yes, I am worry for myself.

I kinda screwed up 2 tests last week. It was really bad. I studied but...sigh

Every time walking down the hallway in the dorm, I can see everyone is either watching movie or chatting in the room; I am so jealous of them. This is the difference between a final-semester-senior and a freshman.

I hate to tell my friends that..."Hey you guys go ahead, I have works to do..."

I am always known as the most disgusting person among my friend. Just now during dinner, I shared one of my 'idea' to my floor mates. I have shared this to a lot of friends, but it's ok, I wanna share it with all of you again.

Let say, one day my husband and I become very broke. Super poor that type. We left one very last 5-dollar note. So I decided to give the 5 bucks to my husband to spend on a buffet. Because, he can eats as much as he can in the buffet, and also he needs to eat more to have energy to work. So he gets to eat while my stomach is empty. Being a smart husband, he will not let his wife dies in hunger, so he comes out with one brilliant idea! He decided to vomit out everything he has eaten, and I will eat whatever he has vomited. *yummy* BUT! This not gonna feed us for tomorrow and the day after and so on. So, this time I am smarter, so I suggested that I am gonna puke out everything that I have just eaten and keep it in the fridge. And Taaa-daaaa, that will be our breakfast for tomorrow! And the same procedure will be repeated.... And we do not have to worry about our meal again. (:

Haha.

One of my friend, Jack, he said he has a better version. So let me share it with you.

Two brothers went on a flight. The younger brother, Chris, kept on vomiting because of the dizziness. His vomit soon filled up the paper bag (and also the brother's paper bag). So, the elder brother, Justin had to go look for air stewardess to get more paper bags. On the way back to his seat, Justin noticed that everyone on the plane started to vomit just like Chris. Being curious, Justin asked Chris about it. And then Chris told his brother:"As you took so much time to get me the new paper bag, I decided to drink all my vomit so I get an empty paper bag for myself to vomit again, and I have no idea why everyone started to vomit after that ..."

Haha.

I think I love my version better, cos I can apply it in the future. =p

LDR

Do you believe in LDR? I mean Long Distance Relationship? Tell me about it.

Talking about this, my very good friend just ended his LDR. So now they are trying to make LDR so scary. But hah! I am no no gonna be influenced or affected by them! Well, I am sad for him, it was just yesterday I read his blog on him saying how happy he was having her in his life, and this morning he told me this bad news. wth. Things just can't be predicted huh? Sigh. Look at the bright site, he is up for grab again. If it wasn't that I am attached, *heeHee, he will be mine! =p Ahhhhh, I love him since the day I got to know him though. He is a great guy, a great friend. A friend that I have learned a lot from. A friend that never let me disappointed, well, yet. =p A friend that never failed to be there. A friend that will tell me the truth, tell me what's good for me, and what's bad.

You know what. I have three very good friends. They are all guys. They are all 23. They are all smart. They are all so sweet, nice, friendly. But aR, they are all singles!! They have almost all the qualities that a girl is looking for, they have the great personalities, looks, money (a lot =p, it's not important though), but they are not attached until now... hmmm.. Alllllaaaaa, they are just being so picky and choosy la! *no eye see* Putting that aside, they are really nice to me though. They're like best of the best! *haha* One day, we will have our very own business together, like a shop or something, yea, that's our dream... hmmm...

Back to school

I am taking 8 subjects this semester, super busy ar!!

Firstly, Psychology Research Lab with Dr. Hook, super banyak articles to read..=_=

Cognitive Psychology, another class with Prof. Bennett, honestly I am not a big fan of her but looking at how she has treated me last semester, I will try my best to be a goody girl in her class. Then, History and System of Psychology, I thought I do not have to deal with all the philosophers in my whole life anymore, but I was wrong. =( I was having hard time when I was taking Philosophy class and Ethics class in M'sia. I worked my butt off to get A for both classes, sigh, I will try to fall in love with all the philosophers again this semester.

That's all with my major classes.

I am taking yoga class too, at first I wanted to enroll in tennis class but somehow it clashes with my other courses. I had my first lesson yesterday, it wasn't as bad as I thought. hehehe...Natalie helped me to enroll in Lifestyle for Wellness class, gosh, this is boring!! Then I am in the Varisity Singers class too, it's like a choir and we have performances and trip during the end of the semester. I am the only Chinese in the class....Phew~ During the first class, they asked me what makes me special, I really have no other idea than telling them I can speak a few languages and I smile a lot. During the summer, David thought me the "Jesus loves me" in Chinese version, and I sang to a lot of old grandmothers when I was in the book field. I sang to the professor and the classmates again in the class yesterday, and they were like...amazed! *hahaha* I am taking Career & Internship class too where they teach you how to write a good resume.. last but not least, *sigh* I enrolled myself in Chinese Conversation class. I dont know why I wanna make myself suffer in the class, I feeel like I am a retarded student in the class. I have to pretend like I cannot speak that language at all. But after that I chose to be honest to the professor, I told her that I was chinese educated just that I have friends that criticized my pronunciation. Because of other students where they are all Americans, I have to learn the basic things together with them. It's good though, cos I just found out today all the while I have been reading my chinese name incorrectly! =(

Phew! This is my very last semester here and also my very last semester for my degree. I hope everything goes well and have as much fun as I can while I am still in school.

Yesterday I got myself a parking ticket!! so Soi ar!! But I went to the security office to debate with the officer today! Heee!! I was so innocent ok! I just arrived in school 2 days ago where they had labor day holidays so I did not have a chance to go to purchase my parking permit. On Monday midnite, PM Chang sms me saying that "hey becareful with your car, they gonna start writing ticket tomorrow".. I was like OK lo, so I woke up early in the morning to go to buy that stupid permit, but when I was on my way back I saw that officer was standing in the parking lot writing tickets already la! But nvm la, after debating he decided to void my 15 dollars ticket...phew~

I am still staying in the dorm this semester while a lot of friends of mine decided to move out to off campus housing. I am glad that I made the choice of staying here because Open Borders Floor is just so great! This is my second semester staying on this floor and the students for this semester are more happening than the last semester! It's so great to have people from different different countries and to see Americans blend with us so well. When I was in Nebraska, I thought people there are so-not-friendly, but here people are TOO-friendly. They are like super friendly and hyper active all the time.

Although school has started, I am still missing the people that I have spent my summer with. I miss them like a lot a lot lo! And we have to talk to each other like almost everyday. =_=

Anyway, I am loving the weather here in Bemidji.. The weather is slightly colder than Genting now, and I cant wait for the winter to come! =p

After 3 months of Summer job, 18000 miles of driving (dats rite, 18k miles!!), I am finally back to my second home. After the summer job ended I drove back to Bemidji from North Carolina..

On the way back I made a few stops, the 2nd last stop was at Nebraska, and I paid Ted & Sherlyn a visit. Its more like I troubled them for a few days. =_=
