Rojak

forgive me for the randomness.

I have been reading a lot of journals lately. It's all the topics surrounding on multiculturalism & globalization from the psychology point of view. Culture is always an interesting topic to study. I love culture so much to the extend that I stay in Open Borders (where you live with people from everywhere), and also I put 'culture' under the 'interest' section in my resume.

I love everyone no matter where are you from, what color are you, what kinda food you eat, and etc. Over the years, I try not to be racist, not to stereotype, not to discriminate as much as I can. Well, I know sometimes you just can't avoid to be discriminative. I am lucky that the place where I am staying right now, people are not that racist. During the Summer when I was working in North Carolina, people there are famous for their Southern Hospitality, they are even more friendly than Penang people. I am lucky again.

People here categorized us as Asian people. Every time when they talk, we are referred as their favorite Asian people. So, are we really that likable by everyone? Apparently not.

So my friend told me this story when I was back from the Summer. My friends wanted to go Minneapolis (A city that 4 hours away from us), but one of them supposed to work and he had to find someone to replace him. All of my friends are Malaysians. One of them approached this American guy (Sorry I have to name everyone according to their nationality to avoid confusion), so my friend said to him "Can you replace xxx at this time at the dining hall, please.." This American guy did not say anything but his friend who stood beside him (an American guy also) responded to my friend that "why not you just go and ask other Malaysians or Nepalis to replace you, since they love to work, and they work all the time.." My friend said this guy has zero culture sensitivity. To me, I think he is super culture sensitive, considering he knows Malaysians and Nepalis so well.

The other day I got to know that one of my friend (an American guy) just got married. Apparently we have issue with this guy as he is so flirtatious and what I hate about him is, he lies all the time. He lies without blinking his eyes, and too bad we know it's all lies even he wanna cover it nicely. So he messaged me quite a lot of times in MSN after his wedding. I have no problem with that but I hate it so much when he has to lie for all kind of nonsense. So I was kinda frustrated and said this to him "you stop freaking lying around and go get yourself a job and treat your wife good". Well, you can say that I was busy body or whatever, or you can say that whether he wanna be loyal to his wife or what he wanna do in his life is problem, but I just can't stand it ok. As much as I am frustrated with him, he was annoyed by what I said to him too. At last he said this to me "You Asian people, especially you Malaysian, what the hack are you doing in my country, pack your bag and go back to your poor country" I did not exaggerate, not even a bit. Obviously I was upset about it.

During our hall meeting, they announced that this Nepalis guy is not allowed to come to our floor anymore. They complained about him that he came to our floor and used some of the people's computer without permission. Yup, it's his fault that he did not ask permission. But I don't think that it's so serious that if we ever seen him on our floor again, we are allowed to call security officer. Eh Come on la! It's not that he sexually harass the girls here or what, he should at least be given a chance to get a warning first or what. =_=

I still remember when I was staying in Damansara Heights, one of this Vietnamese girl was so upset that she had to move out from the apartment as her house mates signed a petition to ask her to leave the house as she has some skin problems. Because of this her friend (another Vietnamese) also had to move out even she doesn't have any skin problems. People can be so cruel sometimes. Sad right?

Another incident happened in the same apartment. There was one night we were making loud noises, the neighbor on top of our floor came down and scolded us. Without surveying the whole situation, the neighbor went and knocked on the Vietnamese door, and scolded the poor guys who were actually doing assignment. Life can be so unfair sometimes. After I moved out from the apartment what I heard was Vietnamese and Chinese (from China) apparently not allowed to stay in that apartment anymore. sigh.

Can you imagine how beautiful this world gonna be if everyone can learn to tolerate with one another a little bit more? If everyone with different colors of skin able to love each other more, that will be great, as our lives will be as pretty as rainbow, so colorful.

It's 4 am in the morning, obviously I am crapping.

A surprise...well..not exactly

I shall blog about my birthday. =p Yea I know it's been awhile, but this morning I received another gift so...*hehe*
I have been really stress lately, I do not sleep well, studies been bad, I am broke, constantly worrying about my future, about getting a job, about the visa application, missing home, wanting to go home badly, and etc la!

Not only the balloons! They brought me gift with this paper bag, and I just couldn't squeeze it in my bag! Gosh, it was so embarrassing!!

Inside the paper bag was this ducky slippers. =_= I am not going to give birth anytime soon, but that's a nice thought of Natalie K & PMC. Love you girls.

I received a lot of gifts when I was in Malaysia too. This is one of them. I am not the ring or diamond kinda person, but o well, this is from someone special so I don't mind receiving it. =p and oh yea I know I have cute fingers. =p

Songs from Jack and Birthday cake from everyone. It's Mint Chocolate form Coldstone..yummy!

On my birthday they brought me out for dinner. Well, not exactly cos I had to walk there!! But it's ok I had fun.. Anyway, this is Vitalie & me.

Vitalie gave me this! I am not sure whether it's a pig or a cow.. but when I press it in the stomach it has oinky oinky sound. Love it! because it's so nice to cuddle.

Super Stress

Stress kaukau.

Sleep at 6am, wake up at 8am.

I don't know since when I have addicted to coffee.

What kind of life is this.

Materials to be absorbed: textbooks, plenty of journal articles

Essential ingredients of burning midnight oil: Coffee, a hug, a sweet message, a phone call, a table lamp

Blessed Child

I am blessed with a lot of birthday wishes and gifts this year.
Wee Hee.
Too many people sing me birthday songs. Lost count already!
I am blessed by WeiYong's amazing voice.
I am blessed by WeeJian's out of tune birthday song.
I am blessed by Pamela's Phooi-Phooi-Phooi birthday song.
I am blessed by E-22 Cellgroup's birthday song while I was in M'sia.
And Jack blessed me by playing a song on the piano!
He said this song is 梦想的婚礼 (A Dream Wedding), He wished me to have my dream wedding in the future! So sweeeeeet...
When he played this song I reminded him not to play too well, so you can tell from the video that it has a few out of tune key, this is because I tell him not to play better than my bf. =p

Oh ya.. I did not post up other voice clip because it's too personal. =p

Leaving on a jet plane

My friends welcome me back with these.

From Vitalie.
It says "Welcome Home Ming"

Welcome Home Ming. But I miss the Home in Malaysia. This time I only get to spend 6 days in Malaysia. 5 days in Penang, 1 day in KL, 4 days on the flight. =_=

I don't know why it's even harder for me to leave home this time. argh. I was hoping that my flight got canceled on the day I left. But no lo..=(

During the last night in KL, a few of us went to RedBox... I wanted to sing this song to him badly but I couldn't find it. Geramnya. Sigh. I know I should have spent more time alone with you but I chose to go out in a group, I know you understand and you will do whatever that gonna make me happy. =p So, this song is for you!

Leaving on a Jet Plane by Chantal Kreviazuk

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn
The taxi's waitin', he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I'll tell you now, they don't mean a thing
Every place I go, I think of you
Every song I sing, I sing for you
When I come back I'll wear your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time, oh, let me kiss you
And close your eyes and I'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times that I won't have to say ...

Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

Yes. I so hate to go. Hate to leave you too.
But.
You know that.
Me Heart You.

Speak Chinese!

This girl is terror.
See. I tell you huh.
When I first met her 6 or 7 years ago, she barely spoke a single-Chinese-word.
She asked me to teach her "Lu Nak Cari Mati" in Chinese, so I taught her "你要找死路啊?" (Ni Yao Zhao Si Lu a).
Today...She is no longer a banana girl... FuiiIIiiYooooOooRrr.. Read what she left in the comments box in her blog.
我的心,碎了,一个一个跌在地上。你不管我的。=(
(My heart has broken, pieces by pieces fallen on the ground. You don't care about me. )

Then, another one.
你在哪里了?飞了啊? 飞来找我可以吗?不要哭了。知道你哭,我也很辛苦。我很想念你,你懂吗?快点回来。我在这边等你。
(Where are you now? Have you flown? Can you fly to see me? Don't cry. Know that you are crying, I am feeling hard too. Do you know that I miss you too? Come back soon, ok? I am here waiting for you. )

Argh. Direct translation is hard.

Sweet huh. My bf doesn't even say that to me.

Miss you babe. InG-17 is missing eLa-21.

My flight canceled yesterday. They delayed my flight not by 1 hour not by 6 hours, but one whole freaking day!!

And so, I have to overnight at my friend's place, I have to wait in the St. Paul airport for 6 hours, I have to wait in the LA airport for another 3 hours., and I also have to dump away my air ticket from KL to Penang.

Sad or not?

Anthony!

Chatting with Anthony can be very fun, cos he is so adorable la! We have known each other for a year now... From Emerge 06' until today.. Seeing him from a guy just won a singing contest until a singer today, it's been a long journey for him. A lot of things have been changed, but he still stay the same!

When I first got to know him, he was so friendly, and not shy at all! =p Miss those days when I had to fetch him to airport and Astro when he just sold his car, Miss those days when I can just sit there to listen to his beautiful voice, Miss those days when I can enjoy looking at him playing the piano.

I miss the day when we went to RedBox to sing from 12noon to 9pm! I miss the day when he decided to 'dump' away his friends and accompanied me and Jason on Christmas.

And last but not least, I love him simply because he bought my very cute Kelisa from me! *haha*

Anyway, cut the craps, so..His EP album just released not along ago, I especially love one of the song in the album: 倔强爱着你 (Jue Jiang Ai Zhe Ni).

The way he presents or sings this song is lovely. You will love it. =)

Oh yea! Do not download his song from the internet, buy original album ok! Support him!

Blah

I am not happy. I am so not happy.

I do not feel like going home anymore.

I have tons of work to finish off before I leave.

I haven't prepared a notice for selling off my car.

I haven't met up with my professors for telling them I am taking a 2-week holidays.

My Summer job customers give me hell of problems. So many returned and dishonest checks, and 5 dollars get deducted from my account each time I received a bounced check. Thus, I haven't remit any money to my company.

I haven't bought a dress for myself for my brother's wedding.

I haven't bought anything for everyone back home.

I haven't brought my I-20 to the International Admission Office to get okie-dokie from them.

I lost my laundry card that have at least 10 dollars in it.

I haven't memorized the US & Canada national anthem's lyrics for upcoming performance during the football games.

As an assignment of career&internship class, I have to find several job descriptions online. This is scaring me off. All my "desire" jobs require at least 2 years of experience, and some even a master-degree. Yes, I am worry for myself.

I kinda screwed up 2 tests last week. It was really bad. I studied but...sigh

Every time walking down the hallway in the dorm, I can see everyone is either watching movie or chatting in the room; I am so jealous of them. This is the difference between a final-semester-senior and a freshman.

I hate to tell my friends that..."Hey you guys go ahead, I have works to do..."

Sigh.

I have no life.

Haih.

So many things to do, so little time I have.

I want to sleep. Let me sleep.

*puke

I am always known as the most disgusting person among my friend. Just now during dinner, I shared one of my 'idea' to my floor mates. I have shared this to a lot of friends, but it's ok, I wanna share it with all of you again.

Let say, one day my husband and I become very broke. Super poor that type. We left one very last 5-dollar note. So I decided to give the 5 bucks to my husband to spend on a buffet. Because, he can eats as much as he can in the buffet, and also he needs to eat more to have energy to work. So he gets to eat while my stomach is empty. Being a smart husband, he will not let his wife dies in hunger, so he comes out with one brilliant idea! He decided to vomit out everything he has eaten, and I will eat whatever he has vomited. *yummy* BUT! This not gonna feed us for tomorrow and the day after and so on. So, this time I am smarter, so I suggested that I am gonna puke out everything that I have just eaten and keep it in the fridge. And Taaa-daaaa, that will be our breakfast for tomorrow! And the same procedure will be repeated.... And we do not have to worry about our meal again. (:

Haha.

One of my friend, Jack, he said he has a better version. So let me share it with you.

Two brothers went on a flight. The younger brother, Chris, kept on vomiting because of the dizziness. His vomit soon filled up the paper bag (and also the brother's paper bag). So, the elder brother, Justin had to go look for air stewardess to get more paper bags. On the way back to his seat, Justin noticed that everyone on the plane started to vomit just like Chris. Being curious, Justin asked Chris about it. And then Chris told his brother:"As you took so much time to get me the new paper bag, I decided to drink all my vomit so I get an empty paper bag for myself to vomit again, and I have no idea why everyone started to vomit after that ..."

Haha.

I think I love my version better, cos I can apply it in the future. =p

LDR

Do you believe in LDR? I mean Long Distance Relationship? Tell me about it.

Talking about this, my very good friend just ended his LDR. So now they are trying to make LDR so scary. But hah! I am no no gonna be influenced or affected by them! Well, I am sad for him, it was just yesterday I read his blog on him saying how happy he was having her in his life, and this morning he told me this bad news. wth. Things just can't be predicted huh? Sigh. Look at the bright site, he is up for grab again. If it wasn't that I am attached, *heeHee, he will be mine! =p Ahhhhh, I love him since the day I got to know him though. He is a great guy, a great friend. A friend that I have learned a lot from. A friend that never let me disappointed, well, yet. =p A friend that never failed to be there. A friend that will tell me the truth, tell me what's good for me, and what's bad.

You know what. I have three very good friends. They are all guys. They are all 23. They are all smart. They are all so sweet, nice, friendly. But aR, they are all singles!! They have almost all the qualities that a girl is looking for, they have the great personalities, looks, money (a lot =p, it's not important though), but they are not attached until now... hmmm.. Alllllaaaaa, they are just being so picky and choosy la! *no eye see* Putting that aside, they are really nice to me though. They're like best of the best! *haha* One day, we will have our very own business together, like a shop or something, yea, that's our dream... hmmm...

Oh yah, one of them rite, is the sweetest! Sweetest!! He will always remember me, and calls me, everytime when he is driving. How sweet is that? =_= I'm being more and more sarcastic nowadays. I know, it's not a good thing.

Ha. Whatever la! Let me post a song for them. Best Friend by Kiroro.

Back to school

I am taking 8 subjects this semester, super busy ar!!
Firstly, Psychology Research Lab with Dr. Hook, super banyak articles to read..=_=
Cognitive Psychology, another class with Prof. Bennett, honestly I am not a big fan of her but looking at how she has treated me last semester, I will try my best to be a goody girl in her class. Then, History and System of Psychology, I thought I do not have to deal with all the philosophers in my whole life anymore, but I was wrong. =( I was having hard time when I was taking Philosophy class and Ethics class in M'sia. I worked my butt off to get A for both classes, sigh, I will try to fall in love with all the philosophers again this semester.

That's all with my major classes.

I am taking yoga class too, at first I wanted to enroll in tennis class but somehow it clashes with my other courses. I had my first lesson yesterday, it wasn't as bad as I thought. hehehe...Natalie helped me to enroll in Lifestyle for Wellness class, gosh, this is boring!! Then I am in the Varisity Singers class too, it's like a choir and we have performances and trip during the end of the semester. I am the only Chinese in the class....Phew~ During the first class, they asked me what makes me special, I really have no other idea than telling them I can speak a few languages and I smile a lot. During the summer, David thought me the "Jesus loves me" in Chinese version, and I sang to a lot of old grandmothers when I was in the book field. I sang to the professor and the classmates again in the class yesterday, and they were like...amazed! *hahaha* I am taking Career & Internship class too where they teach you how to write a good resume.. last but not least, *sigh* I enrolled myself in Chinese Conversation class. I dont know why I wanna make myself suffer in the class, I feeel like I am a retarded student in the class. I have to pretend like I cannot speak that language at all. But after that I chose to be honest to the professor, I told her that I was chinese educated just that I have friends that criticized my pronunciation. Because of other students where they are all Americans, I have to learn the basic things together with them. It's good though, cos I just found out today all the while I have been reading my chinese name incorrectly! =(

Phew! This is my very last semester here and also my very last semester for my degree. I hope everything goes well and have as much fun as I can while I am still in school.

Yesterday I got myself a parking ticket!! so Soi ar!! But I went to the security office to debate with the officer today! Heee!! I was so innocent ok! I just arrived in school 2 days ago where they had labor day holidays so I did not have a chance to go to purchase my parking permit. On Monday midnite, PM Chang sms me saying that "hey becareful with your car, they gonna start writing ticket tomorrow".. I was like OK lo, so I woke up early in the morning to go to buy that stupid permit, but when I was on my way back I saw that officer was standing in the parking lot writing tickets already la! But nvm la, after debating he decided to void my 15 dollars ticket...phew~

I am still staying in the dorm this semester while a lot of friends of mine decided to move out to off campus housing. I am glad that I made the choice of staying here because Open Borders Floor is just so great! This is my second semester staying on this floor and the students for this semester are more happening than the last semester! It's so great to have people from different different countries and to see Americans blend with us so well. When I was in Nebraska, I thought people there are so-not-friendly, but here people are TOO-friendly. They are like super friendly and hyper active all the time.

Although school has started, I am still missing the people that I have spent my summer with. I miss them like a lot a lot lo! And we have to talk to each other like almost everyday. =_=

They are tres bien!

Anyway, I am loving the weather here in Bemidji.. The weather is slightly colder than Genting now, and I cant wait for the winter to come! =p

Monday, September 03, 2007

=)

Back to the dorm!! Finally! Wahhhhh..! I am back to Bemidji..!! I feel like I am back to home..=_=

After 3 months of Summer job, 18000 miles of driving (dats rite, 18k miles!!), I am finally back to my second home. After the summer job ended I drove back to Bemidji from North Carolina..

On the way back I made a few stops, the 2nd last stop was at Nebraska, and I paid Ted & Sherlyn a visit. Its more like I troubled them for a few days. =_=
Taken a lot of photos during this summer but I will be posting up a few only for today. Eh, lazy la!

The Memorial Stadium of UNL, people there not friendly. =_=

Ted & SherLyn brought me here and there luuu...and this was at the Lincoln State Fair.

Something very weird in Nebraska. Their gas price. The Regular one is more expensive than the Silver!! Siao ar!

I wanted to write more but I am very sleepy now. =_= Anyway, I purposely post up this photo for JonJon one, cos he said he misses Ted.. =)

so till then la!

p/s: Jon: Ted did not lose a lot of weight, it's thr angle!! =p

Plain White T's - Hey there Delilah

For you and me and everyone who is in long distance relationship.
=)

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This ones for you

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me.

It's you...

I can't stop singing......

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're every song, and I sing along.
Cause you're my everything.

2 sad people

This is sad.
He hides in the toilet to take a short rest and at the same time he goes online in MSN with his iPhone before going back to the office.
She parks her car under a tree to take a short rest while waiting for the appointment time to come for the visitation of next folks, while waiting she logs into msn with iphone too.
He works in California.
She works in NorthCarolina.
He calls her whenever he is driving.
She calls him usually after works.
He complains about his works as he has nothing to do at work.
She complains to him that it is so hard to work under hot sun.
He misses someone in his heart.
She misses someone in Malaysia badly.

Enough. This is sad. We both live in a sad life.
Our friends should call us more often.

Everything

Michael Buble - Everything

You're a falling star, you're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And You're the perfect thing to see.

And you play your card, but it's kinda cute.
Ah, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend, that you don't know it's true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.

[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.

You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.

And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.

[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.

So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La

[Chorus:]
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, you make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're every song, and I sing along.
Cause you're my everything.
yeah, yeah

Sweet isn't it?

You're the swimming pool, on an August day. This is double sweet. (FYI: I am working under the hot sun these few days, with the temperature of 105 degrees and having people slamming the door on you, the thought of quitting is so strong.)

**loving the iPhone, cos I can blog about anything at anytime!

Boyfriends

I saw this in WeiYong's friendster page. Argh. Me and Gap were not in the picture. Ya, it's been a long time since we all last met. Miss them lots. A LOT! a lot.

Kristina

I first met her at the mini sales school in Indiana during Spring break. My first impression of her was errrrr nothing special. During the mini sales school we had to remember everyone's name and a little bit information of theirs to win a prize. She has this super long name: Kristina Antonnett Mariswamy. I hope I spelt it correctly. She came from University of the Ozarks, in Arkansas. No one knows where is that, nevermind, cos not many people know where is Bemidji State University as well. She is communication major, speaks really fast, very smart, that's why she got a full scholarship to study in the Ozarks. Oh yeah, she is from mainland of Penang, that's the only thing that I like about her. =p

When Ramesh our boss announced the place we gonna work at and also the people that we gonna stay with, I almost fainted when I heard he said Kristina. How can he placed 2 Penang people together. I was disappointed. =p I have heard about how good her driving skills, and it was true! The first night when we all drove from Mississippi to Georgia, she decided to leave all of us and made her own road trip to downtown Atlanta. After about 2 hours of sight seeing in down town Atlanta she decided not to play hide and seek anymore, and that was also the time she decided to let our student manager to lead her back to home.

During the first week of our summer job, I was very semangat. On the other hand, our miss Kristina was very, erm, not having too much faith on this job I would say. She made complains about everything and anything that she can think of. She cried when my manager made her drive at night. She shouted when she saw dogs; that's how she scared the dogs away. After our manager gave her a long lecture about this job, and what's the advantages she has compared to other rookies like me, she started to take this job 'seriously' and she began to perform really good. She is too good and she left me far far far far far far behind!

After one week of being her roommate, I learned that she is super organize! It amazed me. Her driving skills made me wonder is she really penangite. But after that I also learned whats the reason behind her driving skill then ok la I forgive her. =p
During these 2 months plus, I certainly enjoyed being her roommate, especially after we both moved into the same room. I love her even more when she introduced me to Dustin, and even even more when she made more sales than me so she gave me a chance to take a picture with my Canadian neighbor. She said she learned a lot from me during this period, like she is now a more 'organize-neat-tidy' kinda person, and also listen to more Christian songs and also read more Bible. Actually, you know what Kristina, I learned more from you, for example: well, I cant think of one right now. =) lol.

When you leave, I will surely miss you. I will miss the days when you cry because you have bad day. I will miss the days when you smile and laugh because knowing I am there for you. haha. I will miss the days when you say how good my cooking is. I will miss the days when you say you wanna be more organize like me. I will miss the days when you share all your Joneses' stories with me. I will miss the days when we bully our manager. I will miss the days when you ask me to wake up and go to bathroom first.

The "leading up to the crucification of Martin Luther King" was a good one, I can't blame you, everyone makes mistakes. lol. Argh, when you're gone, no one will says " Ming, I want the fried eggplant". When you're gone, no one will tells me I can actually cook better curry than some Indians. When you're gone, I have no one to share how disappointed my day is. When you're gone, I have no one to share about our good looking neighbor. When you're gone, I barely have a chance to talk to Dustin. hahaha. And when you're gone, no one will appreciates your perasan-ness as much as I will.

I am disappointed at myself for not able to make it to president club together with you. There's always another chance. Next year, maybe. =)

I love you Tina. You've been a great one. =)

Well, I know you will miss me. I know you will miss my smile. I know you will miss my foot. Oops. Food I mean.

Last but not least,
Kristina, It's fun and addictive la!! lol.

Updating blog with iPhone is kinda cool.
My car broke down again, coolent hose is leaking, and then now the
change oil sign is on! Gosh! What happen la!
Laying down on the bed thinking what's been going on lately. So stress
out because of my job, school, and so on. After this summer I have so
many things to take care of. I have to think of my graduation plan,
get a job, and blah. Sigh.
I am now living in the land of freedom and opportunities but I don't
know how to make good use of it. I hope that when the time comes I do
not have to stress about the working visa problems like a lot of
friends of mine are having now.
Anyway, I don't know what I am trying to say. My problem now is I
don't know what are my problems. Haha. I think its time for me to go
to bed.
:)
Nite everyone. Miss y'all.

My Brother

This is a post dedicated to my brother for his 27th birthday.

I have known my brother for 23 years (yes, that's my age). He was my playmate when we were young. We played hide and seek. We played doctor and patient (we will mix the Johnson & Johnson baby powder with water and it becomes some kinda gel form as our medicine). We played bus driver and passenger (Grandma will always collects the bus tickets for us as our tools). Mommy will always bring us to Botanical Garden to take picture. We have lots of pictures taken together that he kisses me on my face! *shy* He is mommy's boy, mom sayang him so much and I get really jealous sometimes. Grandma loves him too, always cooks him his favorite dish - dark soya sauce pork. Haiya, to cut all the grandma stories, basically we 'hang out' together a lot when we were small and naive la!

When my brother went to high school, he never forgot about me...I still remember there were days that he brought me to internet cafe with his gf. Well, my brother is a really sweet guy la. He is smart. He is caring. He is thoughtful. He is understading. A lot of people did not know that he actually gave up the chance to further his studies in overseas because of me. =) When I was studying in KL we hardly talk but he will always send sms or email to ask hows things going on. Whenever I am broke, I just need to send my korkor a msg saying that "bro, i am broke", and he never make me disappointed. Actually he helped my parents to pay a big portion of my college and uni tuition fees. I am very blessed with a brother like that. =)

My brother isn;t that good looking kinda guy, but not ugly as well. To me he does not have that special kinda charm too. But since high school, a lot of girls are actually attracted by him. Maybe he is smart, good in sport, king scout, flirticious. Haha. I really dont understand sometimes. Few years ago, I saw my brother cried for the first time. He called back to mom and said that he was very sad because he just broke up with his gf who he had dated for several years. But things worked out not many days after that. And because of his loyalty, they are going to get married this October after 10-12 years of dating. Yay!

Sweet hor?

My sister-in-law to be is a really nice girl. My parents love her. I love her too! =)

Kor Kor! Happy Birthday!

=)

WeeJian

This is a PAID post. This is a Sponsored post. This is for...Hmm...advertising purpose.

I do not know how many girl's friend read my blog. But it's worth a try. You will love me WeeJian!

So, in the last post, I talked about my friend - WeeJian. I do not remember how long we have known each other. My friend introduced him to me during high school. We went to the same tuition center and we gave him a nickname as Mickey. He looked like Mickey Mouse back then. We were kinda Hi-Bye friend during high school time until we went to Inti College Penang. We hang out together with a group of friends sometimes, and not long after that we all became very good friends! Then not long after college years he went to US to further his studies. So when I came over to US I thought we can meet up again but then he went back to Malaysia right after he graduated with a degree. So my dream of singing karaoke with him and another friend of mine never come true. =( But now, he is back to the land of Amelika again to work as an engineer.

Ok. They are all not important. That was just some history of me and him. What is more important is what kind of person he is.

He is a down to earth kinda guy. He is caring, whenever you have any problems just vomit out everything to him and he will give you a bunch of useless comments and solution, but his lame jokes nonetheless will make you smile. Because of this, I can say that he has sense of humor. He loves himself a lot. He has a big dream, it's really good when someone has a dream of something he or she wants to achieve, that means he or she will works hard to achieve it. He is loaded, he is from a good family background. He is nice. He sings well. He is sweet, he is that kind of guy will make cards for his girl friend. He is secretive, he hardly tell us about his love life but sometimes he will accidentally split it out to me. And he has short term memory loss, which is a good thing to me. LOL. He is smart. He is humble. And last but not least, he has that special kinda charm.

So, so, so, you guys must be wondering how does him look like rite? Well, I am sure he does NOT use Friendster, Facebook, Multiply, and MySpace. =p

So now, you must be wondering, if he is so good why not I just keep him for myself. Well, he is TOO HOT for me to handle. =)

*break*

Ah! I am expecting a call from him after I published this post. =p
XiaoXiao Jian, dont be mad k. I am waiting for my free phone as the reward of this post.=) *hehe*

lol.

A little bit update

There's nothing much to update....

My job is kinda blah. Hot sun and thunderstorm. Rejection and more rejections everyday. Sweats and tears.

I am currently reading 'Battle Field of Mind' by Joyce Meyer. A chapter a day before I sleep everynight. It's a brilliant book, she relates everything to daily life very well. Everytime when I read I would be like "Oh my gosh, this is so me..."

There is really nothing much about me to talk about. Same old boring me. =(

Anyway, there is something to get me excited is my friend-Vjian finally back to California...

I'm still alive! + Happy belated Birthday to ShirleyBoooooon

It's been a while! I've been really busy with my work. Honestly, I never worked so hard in my life. =_=" Let me give you a summary of what I have been doing ok...hmm..let's start from the day when Spring semester end.

So during the first week of summer holiday I drove from Minnesota all the way to Iowa to pick up a friend then we drove again to Atlanta, my manager's house. His house is huge, pretty, and tidy, and clean, and dunno la! For a guy at this young age able to own such a house, it's really an achievement. I mean of cos he has been working real hard for it. He and his gf are people I look up to because....hmm...wait...this blog is about me la...so back to the topic at hand...

Then on the next day we again drove to Missisiippi (I think I spell it correctly) where our company at. We have one 'hell' of training that week. 15 of us staying in the motel (there is another group with about 100 students staying in another motel), went through an intensive training, from communication skills and all the way to memorizing the sales talks. That was fun, and that was the first time in my life I memorized something word by word (Bible verses not counted ok). After a week of training, we are all ready to go out and sell books!

So my "territory" is in Grandville County, North Carolina. 5 of us staying in a small cutie pretty apartment in Henderson, and everyone of us working in different county. Our working schedule is from 7.30am to 9.30pm 6 days a week. Sunday no-no rest day!! Sunday have to drive 3 hours to another town for group meeting. =( No cell phones during working hours, no phone calls after 11pm, no tee-vee, no internet (I have to write this blog and save in my pen drive then bring to the place where we have Sunday meeting, then I can onnly curi use the internet connection there to post up this blog ok, so you'd better read every single words here..=p)....

Then come to the first day of my book-girl life. I was excited (yes, i was!!) and scared at the same time. After one week of training now is the time to show myself how much I've learned from all the student managers. It took me 15 minutes to drive from my apartment to my county, but it took me another 15 minutes to reach the country site. I still remember I was driving on the same street for countless time and then I talked to myself, since I am here, die die also have to go down from the car to knock on my first door. Its really scary cos you never know who is behind the door.

The first door I knocked on, no one answered.. Phew...thank God..Moving on to the next one, was a white lady, yes, slammed the door on me (I dont want to talk about racism today, maybe next post). Then I realised that the street I was at, wasn't quite the kind of family I am looking for. So I moved on to the next street. So, one Mrs. Jones (we call all African American Mrs. Jones) opened the door. Phew~ I was so so so so nervous. Her name is Jacqueline (I can remember still)...I told her like what the sales talks says...I am Ming the college girl from Minnesota, this summer I am working my way tru college doing an internship program here in this county...I can't get over how nice everyone has been to me here...In fact you may know who who who that I have visited....bla bla bla bla...Her first reaction was "girl, dont be nervous, today is your first day huh.." hahaha...She knew that I was new in this!! But she was really kind enough to let me show her the books. She really like the Bible (really cool one ok!! from Thomas Nelson), but she really dont have extra money for it now, as she is on fixed income and she is diagnosed with cancer. =( What to do, haih, so I told her dont worry, I will pray for her and end of the summer I will go back to visit her..=_="

So my first day was pretty good, met a lot of nice folks (all Mr. and Mrs Jones), in fact all the doors that I knocked on they gave me a chance to show them the book. First day no sales, but I was happy, meeting all sort of people was a really great experience to me. Some families that I have visited make me appreciate what I have in my life now. Some families they really want to buy the books from me to help me in this job but they just cant afford it (you can tell from their face), so a lot of families did not buy from me, but what I receive is blessing from them and a lot of foods!!! Even the first day I have a few invitation to go to their house to have dinner everyday! nice people are everywhere =) Some families even give me donation but I did not take it, because I told them my purpose to come here is to sell book to help myself go back to school and in the same times the books will benefit the family. Until today (2 weeks +++ already), I only took 2 donations unintentionally, the first one I found it when I open the folded check ($20), then the other $10 bills I found it when I was demonstrating the book to another folk. Some families they wrote down my name and keep me in their prayer ( I met a lot of Rev. Pastors, Deacon...), you know this kind of blessing is priceless =) Some Mrs Jones want me to come back during weekends to meet their son, some want my phone numbers (because of company policy, I did not give)... And a lot of people thought that I am Korean or Japanese. =_="

And of cos I met some nasty family too... This world isn't beautiful as it seems. It was a Monday, I met this family where she and her daughter at home only. So i demonstrated the children Bible (This is also very cool one!!), the girl loves it!! Because it is day-by-day stories, and have a lot of pictures, songs and so on. So what the little girl did was, she kept on bugging her mom to get her the book, but as usual, the mom said she cannot afford it. And the girl kept saying "mummy..i want i want i want..." then the mom straight away stared at her and kicked her away (i did not exaggerate).. I was scared!!! Then the girl came back and cried and still saying "i want i want i want", then the mom...woowaaaaa...slapped her and asked her to go away. I got really really scared and then the mom said to me "Now you can leave", I quickly packed my bag and ran to my car, the moment I stepped into my car I started to cry, cry, cry and cry. It was my fault. =( Cos I didnt do my pre-approach properly and I went to the wrong family, I was supposed to visit another family during that time, but since she opened the door already so I just went ahead to tell the mom why I was there. So that afternoon I couldnt concentrate on anything, and I just couldnt smile. So I decided to go home because I didnt want to let other Mrs Jones see my soury face. And that day I was sitting outside of the apartment for 9 hours until my friends came home(we do not have key because the manager dont want us to go home early). =_="'

I am not trying to be self-pity or what, but this job is not easy. Having hundreds of people turning you down each day will not let you feel any better. Especially during noon, oh my Gosh!! the hot sun can kill you. The weather is so hot, I dont think the weather in M'sia is this bad!! Everytime during the hot afternoon, when people slam the door on you, saying NO to you, the thought of "quit" will just pop in your mind (somemore my car no air condition, so my reward of getting into Mrs Jones house is to enjoy the AC..=p). But everytime I think of how hard my parents have been working for me and they never complained, then I will just tell myself to hanging there, just put my head down and go knock on the next door. So far, one of my friend already quit this job. Another one is quitting too. =( Sometimes its real hard when you see such things happen, because you yourself already lack of motivation but still you have to motivate your friends not to give up.

Sometimes I really feel down, and lonely inside, but be it a good day or bad day, everytime I go home I still put on a smiley face as I dont want my roomates be so stressful like me too. I mean everyone going through the same thing everyday, when my day is bad, maybe their days are even worst, you get what I mean? *sigh* And I really believe that there is no short cut in this job, its only hard work. Good summer or bad summer, one air ticket to go back to M'sia, or my whole semester tuition fees, its all depends on how hard I want to work.

*bish* It's now 3am, Sunday. The only time we are allowed to on our computer to do something. I was just done with my weekly sales report and weekly journal (I have to write weekly journal cos it's graded!! Dont forget this is an internship program...=_="). Darn tired, have another few hours for me to sleep then it's time to go for Sunday meeting. It;s gonna be so malu as this week my sales is really really bad (no eye see), but i'm ok because I know i have already worked hard. Hard works will be paid off one day. yes. One day. Very soon.

Cis...I miss Malaysia badly. Miss papa, mummy, kor-kor, and meimei (x 2). Miss people that I love. Miss my friends. Miss City Harvest even more. Miss Birdy. I want to go Emerge too!Well, Although everyone is physically far away from me, I am holding everyone close in my heart.

Actually I have a lot to share, but I am really too tired to type la! Tomorrow (Momday) gonna be a brand new day, and I know that it's gonna be another fruitful week. it's all work hard plus pray hard. =) My new goal is to love people with compassion, to let the Mrs Jones know I care for them, and also to bring sunshine to them..weeeheee....

Last but not least, to....

my family: mummy n papa dont worry about me..i'm doing just so fine, nothing can beat down your daughter, YET.

the one that I sayang: you always have that extra confidence in me and I really appreciate how you have been motivating me and love me. =)

XiaoXiaoJian: great to hear from you the other day, DREAM big huh. Go strike for your dream and I know you gonna make it. If not just come back to States to teman me (but pls wait until October ok..=P)

Birdy: Macau misses Birdy, jagung, friendster, tinki, maggie goreng, guai-leng-gou.

Shirley Boon: Thanks for the prayer, and that phone conversation really get me moving. Appreciate it a lot a lot a lot. and Happy Belated Birthday! Mwahz! You deserve a kiss..=p

friends in M'sia: too many to name. hahaha...=p but they know i miss them one!

friends in CHC: Can;t wait to join you all for services and cell group meetings!

friends in Bemidji: I miss Bemidji la! Missing that PM-Chang and Natalie-the-cam-whoreeeee..=p Wait for me to come back to go for road trip during end of the year!

ok. That's all for now. Hopefully I'll bring good news in the next post! WeeHee...Till then!

Cheerz,

Ming

Happy Mother's Day!

*don't laugh* These pictures were taken yearSSSS ago...
Anyway, a picture says a thousand words! (2 pictures I mean)

Mummy, we LOVE you!
MwaHHhhhhZZz

WHY?

WHY WHY WHY?

Everytime I travel, there's sure something will happen. FOR SURE!!

1- When I wanna come over to Bemidji from M'sia, air ticket was fully booked. So I have to fly to Minneapolis (city) and take a bus to this small little town Bemidji. Nevermind, I was fine with it, because I got to travel around in the city.

2- Then, United Airlines told me they "kinda" left my luggages in Chicago and for some reason they have to delay my luggage and they left me alone without any extra clothes during winter in St. Paul, Minneapolis airport. Fine then. I got to go to Mall of America to get new clothes.

3-I took a flight to Indiana from this small little town during Spring break for summer job orientation. I had a bumpy flight all the way to Indiana. It was ok cos I kinda enjoyed it. So after few days orientation, time to fly back to Bemidji. When I reached the Indianapolis airport with my friend, OMG, the airport is FILLED with people. We were not late, but it was not likely we can make it in time to go through the custom and get our butt sit in the plane. So we approached the officers in airport, they were like "you guys should be here 3 hours at least before the departure time"..WTH...it's just a domestic flight...Our flight at 9am, and we were there at 6:30am, not enough somemore aaaaRRrrr? Nevermind, cos later they rescheduled for us, just that we need to wait in airport for a couple of hours....

4-So things happened during Winter and Spring. and now Summer. =_=" I got my "new-sporty-car"--> it's written on the car, I didn't make this up. The initial plan was drive to DesMoines, Iowa and overnight at Eva's place before continue my journey to Atlanta with her. It needs 8 hours from Bemidji to Iowa...So I started to drive at 6pm..My car functioned pretty good, very smooth, steady, and fast... I drove like 70mph in average...I reached Minneapolis after 4 hours, I took a short break at a gas station, then later I decided to drive a little bit faster as I was getting tired and I really felt like reaching my friend's house faster...then suddenly "uh-oh" I heard something...something broken but I didnt know what exactly...and I saw the battery light was on... OMG...it scared the hell out of me..so I pulled over to one gas station to have a look..but no one help me..=( I called up my manager he said shouldnt be a problem to reach Iowa..so I continue my drive...then then then..Jeng Jeng Jeng... the interior lights were getting dimmer, no more radio...crapz..I prayed hard that please please please at least let me drive to an exit with a brighter place... then the ABS sign was on...then the Airbag sign was on... I was like..DIE...then I tried my best to drag my car to the nearest place (a pig farm...=_="), I couldn;t control the car anymore...as the steering dont allow me to do anything....then in just a few seconds my car just stopped there..so I stepped on the brake and off the engine...*sigh*..I dont know why this thing always happen on me...And I wasn't even know where was I...luckily I have such a greeeeeat manager and gf that help me to call AAA...then got hot guy came and picked me up..hahahahaha... this is my very first time sitting in a tow truck..cool er!! and I kept looking behind..and he was like "your car wont runaway..." hahaha.... =p anyway, by the time I reached my friend's house was already 5am..damn tired..=_+" for the past one two weeks i've been sleeping for 3 hours each day and now this thing somemore happen on me..aiyo!!

So I woke up early in the morning to call the mechanic workshop...haih..dunno what what belt was broken..then dunno what what what oil was spreading all over..=_=" as expected..one big hole in my pocket again...I'm so broke now...the petrol somemore so expensive..in Bemidji, the price was 2.60 per gallon...then when i reached another town..i saw 2.90...then later 3.00..then now 3.30...they really want to suck my blooooood one...I still remember when I first reached Bemidji like 4 months ago..it was only 1.90 per gallon...=( I really need to earn more money this summer...

and now...after get my car fixed...I need to drive another 15 hours... please..pray for me....i mean my car...aiya!
